*?V and *?v are different commands.In order to specify a password, the following format is used: <password> <command> (one space between password and command).
If there is no password, then the format is: <command> (no spaces before command).
Example for command *?V with password paSsWord:
paSsWord *?V
Example for command *?V without password:
*?V
Device responds to the command only if password check is passed, command format is correct, and response is not prohibited by the device configuration.
