Below are recommendations for self-diagnosis of some standard navigation problems.
It is recommended to create a Debug report, which will provide the ability to plot graphs by parameters:
For each of the problematic objects, you should build a Debug report, which clearly shows the overall picture of the quality of navigation.
Number of satellites is the main indicator of the navigation accuracy:
0 .. 7
- low, difficult to determine the correct location
8 ..15
- middle, deviations from the real trajectory and track distortion are possible
16..21
- high
The main indicator for assessing the quality of navigation is the dependence of the number of satellites on the location of the object and the external voltage of the vehicle (it clearly indicates whether the vehicle was used or not).
Variant 2
If the number of satellites decreases with running engine, not always, but at random intervals. At the same time, during these periods of time, an unauthorized deviation from the route could theoretically could be done, then we can assume intentional jamming.
Variant 3
If the number of satellites decreases on stop with engine on or off and the object is located near industrial buildings on the map, then it may have driven into box/hangar or other building where the navigation antenna does not have a direct view of the satellites.
Variant 4
If the number of satellites is in the range of "Low" or "Middle", then you should check the correct installation of the device. Perhaps the installation site is not chosen well enough in terms of a a direct view of the satellites. It can also be the result of manufacturing defect or malfunction of the device.
Variant 5
If the number of satellites does not change, but the trajectory distortion or incorrect speed or incorrect altitude is clearly visible, then attention should be paid to the frequency of occurrence of such problems with the place of their manifestation. Incorrectness of the readings is determined by a specialist on the basis of the speeds that are actually possible for this vehicle, based on the possible speed/altitude/trajectory of the vehicle on this section of the road or in the conditions of the real state of a particular road, as well as the technical condition of the vehicle.
If problems appear in approximately the same area, then in this area there is a source of interference that introduces an error into the calculations of the navigation module, here nothing can be done either by firmware or by replacing the device.
If problems appear relatively often and in different areas, then the problem may be some kind of interference or a malfunction of the device.
If the problem manifested itself one or more times in a short period of time (day or two), then it may be associated with temporary partial failures of the navigation system or other circumstances that cannot be determined remotely from these data. Here you should simply observe the frequency of manifestation and the place of manifestation of problems.
In order to accurately determine if the problem is in the device or in the conditions of its operation/installation and so on, you should do one of the following:
Replace the device with another known-good one of the same model, and if the same problems appear on the new one, then the problem is NOT on the side of the device.
Install this device on the vehicle where other similar devices have always worked correctly and if this device does not show such problems, then the problem is NOT on the side of the device.
Otherwise, you should assume that the problem is in the device and contact our Technical Support Team.
