There are several ways to setup the device to work with the GPS tracking platform:
- via Configurator
- via SMS command
¶ Configuration via NTC Configurator
This method allows you to configure all the functionality available for the device. However, if you just want to connect the device to the platform and transmit basic navigation information, then this requires only a few simple operations.
- Run NTC Configurator
If you do not have NTC Configurator program, you can download it here.
After downloading, install the program as administrator.
- Connect the device to the Configurator, wait until the device establishes connection with the Configurator. When this happens, you will see information about the device.
- Create a new configuration by clicking on Create a new configuration button. The program will generate recommended settings for this type of device.
- On Data Transmission tab, in the
APN,LoginandPasswordfields, specify the settings for connecting to the Internet.
Below is an example of setting up Internet access for M2MExpress SIM card:
APN = interet.emt.ee
Login = not filled
Password = not filled
These parameters depend on the mobile operator whose SIM card will be installed in the device. You can check this information with your mobile network operator.
- On Data Transmission tab, specify the IP/DNS and Port of the GPS platform.
For the series of devices 24хх in the Wialon system, you must use the IP address 193.193.165.165 and port 21626.
IP/DNS and Port values may be specific to each type of device. You can find out information about these parameters with the technical support team of the tracking platform.
Example for Wialon:

The rest of the settings should be left as it is.
- (not mandatory) Now you can proceed to the connection test
- open log window
- choose User GSM log and play it
- when the device tries to connect to the platform you will see
Connection to the server #1: TCP 193.193.165.165:21626, protocol FLEX 1.0
- when the authorization procedure is successfully completed you will see
Connection to server #1 established
¶ Configuration via SMS
This method allows you to configure almost all the functionality available for the device. But it is rather difficult to set some settings with SMS commands. However, for setting up a GPS platform details or track drawing parameters, this method may be the fastest.
Configuration is provided using EDITS commands, their features and possible problems are described in detail in [this guide] (/home/devices/commands/edits_cmd).
Before generating an SMS command, check the following data:
APN,LoginandPasswordto access the Internet
(You can check this information with your mobile network operator whose SIM card will be used in the device)IP/DNSandPortof the platform
( You can find out information about these parameters with the technical support team of the tracking platform for which the device is configured)
After getting all the data, you can generate an SMS command:
for clarity, all data are taken from the example Configuration via the NTC Configurator

After executing this command, the device will respond in the format

Now you should wait until the device connects to the tracking platform.
