The device can be configured to work with a monitoring server in several ways:
This method allows you to configure all functions supported by the device. However, if you only need to connect the device to a server and transmit a standard set of navigation data, only a few simple steps are required.
If NTC Configurator is not installed on your computer, you can download it here.
After downloading, install the program as Administrator.
Connect the device to NTC Configurator and wait until the connection is established. Once connected, the device information will be displayed.
Create a new configuration by clicking Create New Configuration. The program will generate the recommended settings for this device model.
On the Data Transmission tab, enter the Internet connection settings in the APN, Login, and Password fields.
The example below uses Internet access settings for M2MExpress SIM cards:
APN = internet.mts.ru
Login = mts
Password = mts
These parameters depend on the mobile operator whose SIM card is installed in the device. You can obtain the required values from the mobile operator's technical support.
If these fields are left empty, the device will attempt to determine the correct settings automatically for known operators. The list of known operators is available in the table, which can be opened by clicking the corresponding button.
Data Transmission tab, specify the monitoring server IP/DNS address and Port.For Navtelecom S-24xx devices used with Wialon, use IP address 193.193.165.165 and port 21626.
IP/DNS and Port values usually depend on the device type. You can obtain the required values from the technical support team of the monitoring platform.
Example for the Wialon server:
| Device Model | Port | IP Address | DNS Name |
|---|---|---|---|
| START S-20xx | 22347 |
193.193.165.165 |
nl.gpsgsm.org |
| SMART S-24xx | 21626 |
||
| SIGNAL S-26xx | 21889 |
||
| SIGNAL S-46xx | 22102 |
Leave all other settings unchanged.
Open the log window.
Select the custom GSM log and click the button to start logging.
When the device attempts to connect to the server, you will see:
Connecting to server No. 1: TCP 193.193.165.165:21626, FLEX 1.0 protocol
